Hogan's Major Announcement For Impact (Spoilers)

PostPosted by Longshot » Wed Apr 18, 2012 3:48 am

- At tonight's Impact taping for this Thursday's episode, Hulk Hogan made his previously-reported big announcement on changes to the TV format. They are as follows:

* Impact Wrestling will be "Open Fight Night" once a month. On Open Fight Night, a talent from outside TNA gets a match to earn a roster spot. Three judges along with Hulk Hogan will decide if the talent gets a contract with TNA. Additionally, anyone on the TNA roster can challenge anyone else during Open Fight Night and that person must accept. This includes title matches.

* The TNA TV Title will be defended every week on TV.

I thought the tv title being defended was always a given, but whatever.

In theory, this is a good idea, but will it be two outside talents wrestling each other or an outside talent wrestling a TNA talent?

Wait I know how this actually goes:

Rule 1 of Impact Wrestling: You do not talk about Impact Wrestling
Rule 2 of Impact Wrestling: You do not talk about Impact Wrestling
Rule 3 of Impact Wrestling: If you're the TV Champ, you have to fight

The TV Title will get defended for like 3 weeks and then no one will give a shit anymore and he won't defend it anymore.

TNA has a TV Title? How WCW.

I like this idea, if wasn't for the fact that they'll probably drop it after 2 weeks.

TV Title being defended is always a good thing. TNA needs to define who qualifies as their mid-card.

Jeremy Borash calls out Eric Bischoff for his tweets against him. Borash wants a match and because of the new open challenge rules, he's going to get it. Bully Ray attacks Borash and allows Bischoff to get the pin.

* Devin defeated Bully Ray with the TV Title on the line.

* Anarquia comes out with Mexican America to challenge any American. Kurt Angle accepts and wins the match.

* Agent Al Snow comes out with OVW wrestler Alex Silva. Silva will be competing in a Gutcheck Challenge and Snow will be judging.

* Robbie E defeated Alex Silva.

* Brooke Tessmacher comes out and challenges Gail Kim to a match. Tessmacher wins the non-title match.

* Daniels and Kazarian vs. Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson vs. Magnus and Samoa Joe is next. Hogan comes out and takes Kaz and Daniels out of the match.

* Magnus and Samoa Joe defeated Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson with the tag titles on the line. Hardy and Anderson argued after the match while Kaz and Daniels ran out to attack the champs.

* Ric Flair, Eric Bischoff and their crew come out to end the show and hold Bischoff's farewell party. They are interrupted by Austin Aries, Jeremy Borash, Garett Bischoff and others. They've brought a port-a-potty with them and brawl with the heel wrestlers. They get the upperhand and put Borash in the port-a-potty and push it over. Impact ends with Bischoff covered in crap from the port-a-potty.

Looks like we may finally get Hardy/Anderson as a legit team. I support this. Gives them both something new to do. Keeps them away from the main event scene and allows the home grown talent to grow and gives the tag team division new blood. Good move. Decent show, but was more than likely undermined by the NFL Draft. Don't watch Football personally, but I know others do.
